As you write, Lectra keeps restore points for each document. If you erase something by mistake, or want a page the way it looked an hour ago, you can open History, look at an earlier point, and go back to it. Going back never deletes anything: where you are now is kept too, so you can return to it.
Restore points cover your handwriting and drawings: pen, highlighter, and shapes. Typed text boxes and images aren’t part of a restore point, so going back doesn’t change them.

Open History

1

Open the document

In your library, tap the document to open it.
2

Open the More actions menu

In the editor’s top bar, tap More actions (the ellipsis button).
3

Tap History

Tap History. A list of restore points opens, newest first.
If the document is new, the list is empty and says that points will appear as you write.

Read the list

Each row shows what kind of point it is, how many marks the document had, and which pages had marks. The newest point is marked Now, because that is how the document looks already. Every other point shows Look.

Look at an earlier point

1

Open a restore point

In History, tap a row that shows Look. A preview of that point opens.
2

Choose a page

Use the Page picker to look at each page as it was.
If a page can’t be previewed, the preview says so. Going back still brings that page along.

Go back to an earlier point

1

Choose the point

In History, tap the point you want to preview it, or swipe left on its row.
2

Go back

Tap Go back in the preview’s toolbar or on the row.
3

Confirm

In the confirmation, tap Go back again. Your pages return to how they looked at that point.
Lectra adds a Before going back point first, then a Went back point. To undo the change, open History again and go back to the Before going back point.

Limits

  • Lectra keeps up to 20 restore points for each document.
  • Restore points older than 30 days are removed, but Lectra always keeps at least the 3 newest points, however old they are.
  • Restore points are stored on your iPad only. They aren’t part of your backup, and they aren’t included when you export or share a document.

Get back marks after Lectra closes unexpectedly

Lectra saves each stroke as soon as you lift Apple Pencil. If Lectra closes before the document finishes saving, for example because your iPad restarts, the next time you open that document Lectra checks for marks that didn’t make it into the last save. If it finds any, you see Some marks weren’t saved, with a message such as “Lectra closed before 3 marks on page 2 were saved. Want them back?”
  • Tap Bring them back to add the marks to the page. Lectra confirms with “Your marks are back.”
  • Tap Leave them out to keep the document as it was last saved.
A stroke you were still drawing at the moment Lectra closed can’t be recovered. Every finished stroke can.
