Besides searching, the Scope search bar on Canvas and Brightspace pages runs commands. You type a command’s name, and its row appears at the top of the results. Press Enter to run it.

Run a command

1

Open the search bar

On a Canvas or Brightspace page, press ⌘+K or Ctrl+K, or press /.
2

Find the command

Type the command’s name, such as gpa. To see every command, type / in the search box.
3

Run it

Highlight the command’s row and press Enter, or click it.
A command’s row shows its name, a short description, and a label for what it does, such as OPEN, ADD, or AI. Commands match only their exact name, or the name with one typo, so ordinary searches aren’t taken over by commands. Some commands take text after the name, such as note buy lab goggles. If you choose one of these without text, Scope puts the command name in the box and waits for you to type the rest.
Commands run only in the search bar on course pages. They aren’t in the toolbar popup.
