One Scope account works across the Scope extension, Lectra, Lectra for Mac, Lectra Receiver for Chrome, and Polya. When you sign in to each app with the same Google account, they all use the same Scope account. That’s what lets a PDF you send from Chrome appear in Lectra, and what lets the Scope extension bring a Canvas course into Polya. Some apps work without an account. The Scope extension searches your courses without one, and Lectra works without one if you choose Sign in later.

How sign-in works in each app

Use Google if you use more than one Scope app. Lectra is the only Scope app that offers Sign in with Apple. If you sign in to Lectra with Apple, the Scope extension, Lectra for Mac, Lectra Receiver, and Polya can’t sign in to that account, so your files won’t move between them.

1

Open Scope

In the Chrome toolbar, click the Scope icon. If you don’t see it, click the Extensions button first.
2

Open Settings

Click Settings. It’s the gear button at the top of the Scope window.
3

Sign in with Google

Under Account, click Sign in, and then choose your Google account in the window that opens.
You can also sign in from the More actions menu in the Scope window: choose Sign in with Google. To learn more, see Sign in to Scope.

Use Lectra without an account

On Lectra’s sign-in screen, tap Sign in later to go straight to your library. Without an account, you can still import, read, mark up, save, and export documents. Your documents live on your iPad. What you need an account for in Lectra:
  • Backups. When you’re signed in, Lectra keeps a backup copy of your pages, with your markup drawn on them. Your handwriting itself stays on your iPad. To learn more, see Backups.
  • Files from Scope. PDFs you send from the Scope extension or Lectra Receiver arrive in your library only when you’re signed in to the same account.
  • Your Mac. Opening your Mac from your iPad and sending files between them need an account on both devices.
When you sign in later, the documents you made without an account stay in your library. Signing in never deletes the documents on your iPad.

Sign out

1

Open Settings

Click the Scope icon in the Chrome toolbar, and then click Settings.
2

Sign out

At the bottom of Settings, click Sign out.
Signing out doesn’t remove what Scope saved in this browser. To remove that too, see Delete your account and data.

Switch to a different account

To use a different account, sign out of the app, and then sign in with the other account. In Lectra, documents that belong to one account aren’t mixed into another. If you sign in with a different account than the one your documents belong to, Lectra sets those documents aside instead of deleting them, and tells you.

Troubleshooting

Make sure the Scope extension and Lectra are signed in to the same Google account. In the extension, check that Send to Lectra is turned on in Settings. In Lectra, open the Scope Inbox and tap Check for New Files. For more fixes, see Troubleshoot Lectra.
Lectra for Mac signs in with Google only. If you signed in to Lectra on your iPad with Apple, the Mac can’t reach that account. Both devices need to be signed in to the same Google account. To learn more, see Lectra for Mac.
The other Scope apps can’t sign in with Apple, so they can’t reach that account. If you need your Lectra documents on a Google-based account, contact support before you change anything, so you don’t lose your backups.
Go back to the sign-in page and try again. If it keeps failing, contact Polya support.
