The Scope extension, Lectra, and Polya share one Scope account. When you delete it, it’s deleted for every Scope app at once, along with the data stored with it. You can delete your account from inside Lectra, or ask support to delete it by email. If you want to keep your account and remove only some data, see Remove data from one app.
Deleting your account can’t be undone. Your backups, the PDFs waiting in your Scope Inbox, and your Polya courses and conversations are removed for good.

Before you delete

  • Export anything you want to keep. In Lectra, export the documents you need as PDFs or .lectra files. To learn how, see Export and share.
  • Delete Canvas access tokens you created for Scope or Polya. Deleting your Scope account doesn’t switch off a token inside Canvas. In Canvas, go to Account > Settings, and under Approved Integrations, delete the token.
  • Disconnect Polya from Claude or ChatGPT if you connected it. Remove the connector in that assistant’s settings.

Delete your account in Lectra

This is the fastest way to delete your account. You need to be signed in to Lectra and connected to the internet.
1

Open Settings

In your Lectra library, tap your profile picture. It’s in the sidebar, or at the top of the screen when the sidebar is hidden. Settings opens to the Account tab.
2

Tap Delete Account

Under Privacy & Data, tap Delete Account. Lectra asks Delete your account?
3

Choose what happens to the documents on this iPad

Tap one of the following:
  • Delete Account, Keep Documents Here: deletes your account and everything backed up, and keeps the documents on this iPad so you can keep using them without an account.
  • Delete Account and Documents: deletes your account, everything backed up, and the documents on this iPad.
To stop without deleting anything, tap Cancel.
4

Check the confirmation

Lectra confirms that your account is deleted. If you kept your documents, your library stays open. If Lectra says a few backed-up copies are still being cleaned up, you don’t need to do anything else.
If Lectra says it couldn’t delete your account, check your internet connection and try again. If it still fails, contact support.
Delete Account appears only when you’re signed in. If you use Lectra without an account, there’s no account to delete. To remove your documents, delete them from your library or delete the Lectra app.

Delete your account by email

If you don’t use Lectra, or can’t sign in to it, ask support to delete your account.
1

Write from your sign-in address

Send the email from the address you sign in to Scope with, so support can confirm the account is yours.
2

Send it to support

Email canvascopeextension@gmail.com. If you mostly use Polya, you can email hello@askpolya.com instead. Either request deletes the same Scope account.
3

Say what you want deleted

Ask to delete your Scope account. To remove only your Polya Canvas connection, say that instead.
Polya’s privacy policy commits to deleting your account and its data within 30 days of your request.

Remove data from one app

You can remove data from one app without deleting your account.

Scope extension

The extension has no button to delete your account. Use Lectra or email for that. To remove what the extension keeps:
  • Data saved in this browser. Click the Scope icon in the Chrome toolbar, and then click Settings. Under Your data, click Clear Scope data on this browser. This removes your recent searches, what Scope has read from your Canvas pages, and how you search. It doesn’t affect Lectra or your account.
  • Your Canvas connection. If you connected Canvas in Settings, go to Settings > Connect Canvas and click Disconnect. Scope forgets your access token. You can also delete the token in Canvas under Approved Integrations.
  • Everything in this browser. Remove the extension: in the Chrome toolbar, right-click the Scope icon and choose Remove from Chrome. Removing the extension removes the data it stored in your browser. To learn more, see Uninstall Scope.

Lectra

  • One document. In your library, move the document to Recently Deleted. It stays there for 30 days, then it’s deleted. To delete it sooner, open Recently Deleted from the More library options (•••) menu in your library, and choose Delete Now for that document, or Delete All. Recently Deleted requires Lectra 10.0 or later.
  • Everything on this iPad. Delete the Lectra app from your iPad. This removes the documents stored in Lectra on this iPad. Backups stay with your account until you delete the account.

Polya

  • One course. On your course list, open the course’s Course options menu (⋮), choose Delete course, and then choose Delete. Polya deletes that course’s materials, files, search index, conversations, and study mode right away.
  • Your Canvas connection. Email hello@askpolya.com from your sign-in address and ask to remove it. Removing it from Polya doesn’t switch it off in Canvas, so also delete the token in Canvas under Account > Settings > Approved Integrations.
  • Polya in Claude or ChatGPT. Remove the Polya connector in that assistant’s settings. To learn more, see Use Polya in Claude or Use Polya in ChatGPT.

What gets deleted

When your account is deleted: Usage counts, which record only that an app was used, stay in Scope’s records, but they’re no longer linked to you. Copies held in backups and by the services that help run Scope are removed on their own schedules rather than right away.

Remove Scope from your Google Account

Deleting your Scope account doesn’t remove Scope from the list of apps connected to your Google Account. To remove it:
1

Open your Google connections

2

Find Scope

Select Scope in the list. It may appear under its former name, Canvascope.
3

Remove access

Choose the option to delete the connection, and confirm.
