# Scope extension for Chrome

> Scope is a free Chrome extension that searches all your Canvas and Brightspace courses at once, tracks what's due, answers questions from your course materials, and sends files to Lectra on your iPad.

Scope is a free extension for Google Chrome that puts all your courses one search away. Press <kbd>⌘</kbd>+<kbd>K</kbd> or <kbd>Ctrl</kbd>+<kbd>K</kbd> on any Canvas or Brightspace page, type a few words, and find the file, page, assignment, or video you need, no matter which course it's in. Scope also gathers every due date into one agenda, answers questions from the materials your instructors posted, and sends PDFs to Lectra on your iPad.

Scope builds its index of your courses in your browser, and searching happens on your computer. You don't need an account to search or to track what's due.

## What you need

* A computer with Google Chrome version 116 or later.
* Courses on Canvas or Brightspace. Scope recognizes `*.instructure.com`, `*.brightspace.com`, and `*.d2l.com` addresses and several school-specific ones, and you can add your school's own address. See [Supported course sites](/chrome/connect-your-courses#supported-course-sites).
* A Google account, if you want to sign in. Signing in is optional. See [Sign in to Scope](/chrome/sign-in).
* An iPad with Lectra, if you want to send files to it. See [Install Lectra](/lectra/install).

Scope is free. There are no ads.

**Send to Lectra** also works on PDFs on any website, and on Google Docs, Slides, and Sheets. **Select from Lectra** also works in Gradescope.
